UFC Fight Night 125 event happened last night in Belem, Brazil on Feb 3. The main event saw former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida turned back the clock with a close but impressive split decision win over formerly undefeated opponent Eryk Anders. Both didn’t get any bonus award.
In the co-main event, former UFC bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko authored one of the most lopsided victories of her impressive career thus far, brutally battered newcomer Priscila Cachoeira alive in a flyweight showdown. The bout should have been stopped much earlier, but Shevchenko took care of that herself too, getting the rear-naked choke in the second round. She banks an extra $50,000 for her Performance of the Night.
The other ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the entertaining main card opener between Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith. Santos won by second-round TKO after beating Smith with a body shot early in the frame. Smith might not have won the fight, but he did get $50K smackeroos for taking a piping hot plate of whoop-ass, and Thiago Santos got $50k large for winning it.
