Robert Whittaker, a 34-year-old from Australia, has a 26-8 record. He won the UFC middleweight title in 2017 by beating Yoel Romero and defended it once before losing to Israel Adesanya in 2019. Known for his crisp striking, Whittaker has wins over Derek Brunson, Jared Cannonier, and Ikram Aliskerov, whom he knocked out at UFC Saudi Arabia. His last fight was a first-round submission loss to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308, where he suffered a dislocated jaw. Whittaker looks to rebound against de Ridder.

Reinier de Ridder, a 35-year-old from the Netherlands, has a 20-2 record. A former ONE Championship middleweight and light heavyweight champion, he’s known for submissions, with 13 tapout wins. He lost his ONE titles to Anatoly Malykhin. In the UFC, de Ridder is 3-0, with submission wins over Gerald Meerschaert and Kevin Holland, and a TKO over Bo Nickal at UFC Des Moines via a second-round knee to the body. He’s looking to climb the rankings.
