UFC 330 fighters and fight-week guests were evacuated from the Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday, hours before the official weigh-ins for Islam Makhachev vs. Ian Machado Garry.
Guests were told there was an “emergency in the valet garage” requiring assistance from the Philadelphia Fire Department. One hotel guest described a “super loud alarm” and said people were outside for “about 20 minutes” before being allowed back into the building.
UFC commentator Jon Anik and welterweight contender Carlos Prates were among the fight-week figures seen outside during the evacuation. No injuries were reported, and the disruption did not cancel the scheduled weigh-in window.
