UFC 311 is bringing some of the biggest names to the octagon.
Dana White announced that Islam Makhachev will face Arman Tsarukyan in the main event on January 18. The highly anticipated fight will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
Makhachev will try to keep his lightweight title when he faces Tsarukyan, but that’s not the only big fight coming up.
Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov will also fight for the bantamweight title.
These big matchups are kicking off 2025 in a big way for UFC, and the Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan fight is a rematch from 2019, where Makhachev earned a tough win by decision.
Makhachev has been on a hot streak, winning 14 fights in a row, with wins over top fighters like Charles Oliveira, Alexander Volkanovski, and Dustin Poirier.
Tsarukyan isn’t far behind, winning nine of his last 10 fights, including a close win over Oliveira.

For the co-main event, Dvalishvili comes into the fight riding an 11-match win streak, which includes his big win over Sean O’Malley to claim the bantamweight title.
But his opponent, Nurmagomedov, is no easy challenge. He’s unbeaten with 18 wins and just won a big fight against Cory Sandhagen.
