UFC 229 Rankings: Conor McGregor Goes Six Places Down On Pound-For-Pound List

UFC 229 Rankings Update Brings Some Dramatic Changes In Pound-For-Pound List And UFC Lightweight, Light Heavyweight, Flyweight Division, Conor McGregor Goes Six Places Down

UFC 229 is definitively an event to remember. Few amazing fights and excellent performance. Fighters were throwing everything they had. We didn’t hear many boos. Aside from UFC 229 post-fight riot, the event was the festival you wanna watch.

UFC 229 rankings bring some big chances. There is bad news for Conor McGregor! The Notorious has dropped six places on the pound-for-pound list. He is now ranked #8. It looks like the submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov will hurt him for a long time.

On the other side, the undefeated Dagestani superstar, Khabib Nurmagomedov, has advanced. He is ranked #2 at the moment! With the perfect score of 27-0, it is just a matter of time when will he overtake Daniel Cormier. But he will have to deal NSAC and Dana White in the first place.

When it comes to the UFC Lightweight division, Tony Ferguson is now promoted to the #1 contender after his victory over Anthony Pettis. Showtime broke his hand and had to pull out of the match at the end of the second round. But we watched two rounds of a real bloody and battered war! Conor McGregor is ranked #2.

We’ve seen changes in Light Heavyweight division too. Dominick Reyes jumped six spots after his victory over Ovince Saint-Preux. Following UFC 229 rankings update, Reyes is ranked #6. OSP dropped to #9.

Brazilian BJJ black belt Jussier Formiga jumped three spots up in the Flyweight division. He defeated Sergio Pettis via unanimous decision. His current rank is #2.

It looks like Conor McGregor is the biggest loser. His significant drop could mean he is not a legend anymore. The dangerous striker looked so helpless versus Khabib Nurmagomedov. What are your thoughts on updated UFC 229 rankings? Can Conor McGregor recover?
