UFC 128 facebook preliminaries lead to multiple decisions

If you didn’t get to watch the UFC 128 three free preliinary fights on facebook because you were too busy creeping through the girl you had a crush on back in high school’s pictures-it’s OK. I don’t want to say you didn’t miss much, but you didn’t miss much. All three fights went to uneventful decisions. Even Mike and Joe were rather subdued during their commentating and at one point during the second round of the Pyle and Almieda fight Joe Rogan even commented about how the two were basically canceling each other out.

Maybe fights on facebook are kind of like that old Sade song that goes, “It’s never as good as the first time…” The first facebook stream of fights during UFC Fight for the Troops 2 was full of win with Yves Edwards and Cody McKenzie earning Fight of the Night and my favorite piece of man meat Damarques Johnson taking out Mike Guymon with a spine crushing body triangle. This time there was some laying, some praying a little punching, a little kicking and a few takedowns.

Benavidez won his UFC debut via decision. Tibau won a split decision over Pelligrino, probably due to his takedowns. When Tibau fights you are pretty much guarnateed to see at least one big slam of a takedown. Pyle beat Almeida via unanimous decision. I’m going to blame this uneventful facebook stream on sophmore slump created by the supermoon in effect tonight. Now head on over to Spike to watch the live prelims. Barboza vs Njokuani is bound to wake us all back up.
