Tyron Woodley Goes Off On Kelving Gastelum For Calling Him Out

Tyron Woodley fought Kelvin Gastelum back in 2015. However now things look to be heading in the direction of a potential rematch.

Gastelum took on Woodley, at UFC 183, in a welterweight title elimination fight. Ahead of the bout, Kelvin missed weight. Despite that Woodley went on to win the fight, via split decision.

Since then, Tyron Woodley won, defended, and lost the Welterweight Championship. On the other hand, Gastelum made the move to Middleweight, having just fought for the interim title. Currently, he is scheduled to face Darren Till on November 2nd, at MSG.

However, ahead of that fight, Gastelum recently said he would like to rematch Woodley. While they are no longer in the same division, Gastelum said that was still a fight that interested him. However, when speaking on The Hollywood Beatdown, Woodley responded to these comments.

“Kelvin Fatselum, the one who fought me at middleweight when I was a welterweight, and got his ass whooped when I broke my foot, and I gave him his money back and now he’s talking s–t three years later. F–k everybody around his team from top to bottom.”

Woodley is referring to the fact that when Gastelum missed weight, he chose to give the fine money paid, back to Gastelum. This was not something he was required to do. Nonetheless he chose to do it as a gesture of kindness.

However, he went on from there.

“He wants to fight me when? What are you going to do differently? You haven’t ever fought for a title and won, my man. What are you the king of? You’re the king of Qdoba or Chipotle. Would you eat there everyday if you’re a championship level fighter?

i ain’t got love for you G, I ain’t got no pity for you. Gave you mad props on air, I gave you mad props on ESPN, I gave you mad props for the Israel Adesanya fight. I ain’t had nothing to say about you. I was respectful to you, I didn’t bash you when you missed weight. And now you’re going to talk s–t about me?

I will f–k you up right now. I will f–k you up in the Octagon. You’re garbage and you’re whole squad is garbage.”

Oof, that was quite the tirade from Tyron Woodley. While at this point, it seems unlikely that he will be rematch Kelvin Gastelum, it does appear that he would be down for the fight.
