Tyron Woodley Believes Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington Doesn’t Deserve Title Shot

Tyron Woodley Says Colby Covington Had His Chance, But Willing To Fight ‘Embarrassment To The Sport’ ‘Chaos’ In The Main Event Of UFC 230

Current Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley who successfully defended his title with a second-round submission win over the undefeated Darren Till in the main event of UFC 228 on Saturday from Texas.

Covington had his chance to face Woodley at UFC 228 but opted out citing nasal correction surgery. Thus UFC moved forward to give a nod to Darren Till for a title opportunity and stripped ‘Chaos’ of his interim belt.

Following a fight, Covington called out “The Chosen One” to meet him at the upcoming UFC 230 pay-per-view event in Madison Square Garden New York City.

With many starting to believe that Woodley will face next inside the Octagon an outspoken Colby Covington, but champion doesn’t think Covington deserve a crack at a title, but willing to meet ‘Embarrassment To The Sport’ ‘Chaos’ if that’s what UFC wants.

“I’m not saying I am gonna fight him, because I don’t feel like he deserves my platform right now,” Woodley said. “He had his chance to be here. He bitched out, if you want to be honest and frank. He talked all this crap and when he got in the hot seat, the second he won that belt. I said, ‘Let’s come get this smoke.’ He got quiet. Instagram accounts got taken down for a brief moment and he didn’t say nothing.

“I think it’s an embarrassment to the sport and if that’s the next person that’s gotta get the work, you don’t have to do much to get me up for that fight. We’ll see.”

“The more I fight, the better I get,” Woodley said (H/T to MMAFighting). “And the most comfortable I get, the more confident I get. So I want to stay as active as possible. If November is a date they’re looking for a main event, I think they got their guy.”

Woodley says no matter whoever UFC chooses for him he’s willing to take the open main-headliner spot at UFC 230, which is set to take place on November 3 at Madison Square Garden.

Who do you think Woodley should face next?
