Tornado guard sweeps from Poland, and you still can’t pull them off

Call it the sweep from Tornado Guard.  Call it a form of helicopter sweep.  Call it that really, really cool sweep that Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu made famous (in our little world of BJJ).  I call it the sweep you’re wasting way too much of your time trying to pull off, when your hip escapes still leave something to be desired.,  But, that’s just me.

This sweep is like the skinny jeans of BJJ culture.  It’s what midriff tops are to chubby girls.  What I’m saying is it’s cool and on all, but it doesn’t look so good on everyone – particularly the newly ordained blue belt who’s making it a play for it on me.  Don’t get me wrong.  I admire this sweep and anyone who can make it a high percentage component of their game.  I just firmly believe that includes about 8-10 gifted and very experienced athletes the world over.
