The UFC 310 co-main event is set to be an epic showdown. At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) will face Ian Machado Garry (14-0) in a battle of undefeated fighters. Only one of them will keep their perfect record.

Renowned trainer Firas Zahabi recently shared his expert breakdown of the fight and gave his pick for who might come out on top in this crucial welterweight clash.

“I’m super pumped for this fight.  Why?  Two undefeated major prospects, major prospects going at it,” Zahabi said on the TriStar Gym YouTube channel.

Rakhmonov has won every fight he’s been in and usually finishes them quickly. He’s only gone into the third round a couple of times in his whole career. Coach Zahabi says that Rakhmonov’s secret is that he keeps going without giving up and puts lots of pressure on his opponents.

“What’s so special about (Rakhmonov)? I’ll tell you. After watching his fights, it’s kind of obvious. He has a relentless pressure. The man is an animal,” Zahabi said. “He has an incredible robustness and resilience.”

“His relentless pressure I feel is going to be way too much for him (Machado Garry),” continued Zahabi. “For Ian Garry to win this fight I think he’d have to stay on the outside for quite a long time, pick and poke, stick and move and we saw that even ‘Wonderboy’ (Stephen Thompson) wasn’t able to do that against Shavkat.”

“I think he’s going to sub Ian Garry,” Zahabi said.  “If he can do that to Geoff Neal and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, two elite strikes who are not easy to finish, two guys who are incredibly robust, highly experienced, I think he’s going to run down, chop down, wrestle down Ian Garry eventually.”

Rakhmonov has won all his 18 fights, and he did it in a really strong way, finishing six of them in the UFC. Garry has won eight of his 15 fights like that too, finishing three of them in the UFC.
