Tony Ferguson’s Wife Cristina Issues Statement On Why She Files A Restraining Order

UFC Star Tony Ferguson’s Wife Explained The Reason Of Restraining Order

Former UFC interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson’s wife Cristina forced to file a temporary restraining order against “El Cucuy” for alleging domestic violence in Orange County (Calif.) Superior Court on Wednesday.

According to court records, further investigation will take place on March 22 with a domestic violence hearing to go down on April 5th.

Cristina’s lawyer, Jeffrey L. Heath, issued a statement to UFC’s broadcast partner ESPN on Thursday night.

“Tony Ferguson is a good husband and good father to our son,” Cristina Ferguson said in the statement. “The current legal proceedings are a part of a process to ensure that Tony will receive the help necessary to continue being the best possible, as well as to pursue his passion and career as a UFC champion fighter.

“All positive well wishes are sincerely appreciated, and I hope our privacy will be respected.”

It’s important to note here that Ferguson is presumed to be innocent after Wednesday’s temporary restraining order until further investigation is determined.

‘El CuCuy’ is currently riding on 11 fight winning streak. He last fought at UFC 229 where he scored a second-round TKO win over Anthony Pettis last October and most recently turned down an opportunity to fight Max Holloway for an interim title at UFC 236 on April 13.
