Tony Ferguson will be entering a legal battle.

Ferguson Charged With DUI

The former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion is now being charged with a misdemeanor DUI (driving under the influence) after his arrest in Hollywood, California last month. Ferguson crashed his truck into a few parked cars, flipping his own vehicle in the process on May 7th.

Ferguson, who ‘reeked of booze and had bloodshot eyes’ according to an officer (via TMZ), refused to take a field sobriety test thereafter.

Despite the overall circumstances of the incident, TMZ reports that Ferguson has pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the misdemeanor DUI charge at his arraignment last week on June 1st. Ferguson is set for another hearing in the next few weeks.

A Run Of Bad Luck

The last few years haven’t been easy for Tony Ferguson. On top of the aforementioned DUI charge, ‘El Cucuy’ has lost five-straight fights to the likes of Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler, Nate Diaz, and more and has not won since stopping Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone back in 2019.

Ferguson looks to bounce back from all of this adversity when he takes on Bobby Green AKA ‘King’ at UFC 291 on July 29th.
