Tony Ferguson: “My “Athleticism” & “Conditioning” Would Be Too Much For Conor McGregor Both In A Cage Or Boxing Match”
Tony Ferguson pulled out of UFC 223 due to torn ligaments. The Irishman didn’t hesitate to send him a very crude message. Unfortunately for “El Cucuy”, he has never got a chance to fight Conor McGregor and revenge for this trolling.
Yet, it looks like he is confident about his own qualities more than ever. Ferguson shared an interesting statement on his Twitter account late on Tuesday night. He believes he could defeat “The Notorious” in both MMA and boxing!
I feel I do my best against “Southpaws”. Most of my finishes are against them w/ style points. I feel if I were to fight @TheNotoriousMMA in a cage or boxing match my “Athleticism” & “Conditioning” would be too much for the Irishman & he would easily break in a Few Rounds 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽

The first two sentences of Tony’s post actually make sense. He has a positive score versus left-handed fighters.
He was rocked three times versus Anthony Pettis at UFC 229 but he won the match. “El Cucuy” defeated Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 98 on November 5, 2016, via unanimous decision. He lost to southpaw fighter only once, at UFC On Fox 3 on May 5, 2012. Michael “The Menace” Johnson was better on judges’ scorecards.
Also, Conor McGregor has never been known as a cardio machine. The famous coach Firas Zahabi offered a great scientific explanation for that.
Conor McGregor lost his only boxing match to Floyd Mayweather Jr on August 26, 2017, via tenth-round TKO. Tony Ferguson has never boxed before. Yet, he has shown some great punching skills inside the octagon.
At the moment, Tony Ferguson is No.1 UFC Lightweight contender, while “The Notorious” sits one spot below.
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov received temporary suspensions by NSAC for their role in UFC 229 post-fight incident. The NSAC hearing is set for December 10th this year. Yet, Khabib said he wouldn’t appear. An undefeated Dagestani might get a long-time suspension. If that happens, UFC could think about scheduling McGregor vs Ferguson.
Do you believe “El Cucuy” could win Conor McGregor both in boxing and MMA ring?
