Tonight…there will be blood

Today is finally today…and it already feels like the best day ever. Without Strikeforce, today wouldnt be today…it would just be another day. If I had to pick any day to be today, it would be today.

Strikeforce should just make every ticket for tonight’s event out of thermite so when you enter the Scottrade Center you just explode into a flaming ball of awesomeness. Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields has to be one of the most anticipated cards of Showtime thus far. You got Andrei Arlovski who is just coming off a lost to some dude called Fedor Emelianenko (he must be new) fighting the only dude I know (besides Cameron Dollar) that can pull off a mohawk while simultaneously reconfiguring a dude’s face, Brett Rogers. Originally, Rogers was supposed to battle with your boy from Holland, Alistair Overeem but the dude is too busy not paying bathroom fees and beating the hell out of Dutch security guards (which is completely understandable). You would think that would be the headliner but its not even close to the amount of bang’emite sticks that have been shoved into this event.

Nick Diaz and Scott Smith! Nick Diaz vs. Scott Smith! If the fight ends in a draw due to perfusive blood loss, I wouldnt even be surprised. These two dudes are like a cutman’s (or Nosferatu) dream. Expect this fight to be sponsored by The American Red Cross. If giving blood means saving lives, after tonight these guys will probably solve the Darfur crisis

Not to mention Kevin Randleman. Dude’s a legend and has beat guys like Crocop and Babalu (dude even fought Bas Rutten!). The New York Badass Phil Baroni (who’s like the 10th member of Wu-Tang Clan), Shields vs. Lawler…a card like this makes you want to throw something valuable out of the window (then regret it afterwards). Tonight, Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields on Showtime. Today is finally today.
