- Tom Aspinall believes he would end up retiring Jon Jones without fighting him
- “Honey Badger” doesn’t like to hear UFC president Dana White praising “Bones” anymore
Tom Aspinall thinks Jon Jones would keep on ducking him, eventually retiring for good. He is also tired of hearing Dana White rave about “Bones.”
Jon doesn’t want a piece of Tom
Speaking to Believe You Me podcast, “Honey Badger” talked about Jones once again. According to Aspinall, “Bones” is just waiting for him to lose but has no intentions of jeopardizing his legacy by facing him.
For Tom, Jones will keep on running away until and the UFC wouldn’t let them fight until “Bones” retires.
“Jon Jones, he was praying that I would lose that fight against Curtis Blaydes. We know he’s a bit overweight these days. The guy sat there with the Cheetos fingers or whatever, the Doritos fingers with his iPhone in his hand, waiting for me to get knocked out so he can start tweeting about it. Since I won that fight, he’s been completely silent. There’s no way on earth that he’s going to fight me. Not a chance. I’ll retire Jon Jones without even fighting him,” Aspinall said.

Tom just wants to end it once and for all
Aspinall said he’s also irked by the regular praises Jones has been receiving from the UFC boss. All Aspinall wants to do is just find out if “Bones” really is the MMA GOAT by settling it inside the Octagon.
“They’re holding the belt hostage, mate, and Jon Jones is loving it. He’s loving the fact that Dana is getting on every interview possible… You’re talking about bantamweights, and Dana White flips it and starts talking about how good Jon Jones is. I’m like, ‘Mate, if he’s that good, let’s fight,'” Aspinall pointed out.
“He beat one guy, Ciryl Gane and he didn’t want to be there… He’s had an amazing career, but not at heavyweight. I’m the guy at heavyweight. Not him… I’m the one defending,” he added.
Tom will be ready
White has confirmed that Aspinall will be the backup for the Jones vs. Miocic title fight. As per “Honey Badger,” he would ensure to be ready on that day.
“That’s confirmed. And I’ll jump in on one-hour notice if I have to and beat either of them,” Aspinall said.
Aspinall dominantly retained his interim heavyweight belt by stopping Curtis Blaydes in 60 seconds. He is currently ranked No. 10 in the pound-for-pound rankings and believes that beating Jones will cement his status as the best in the world.
