TJ Dillashaw Hopes For A UFC Flyweight Title Shot Versus Henry Cejudo

TJ Dillashaw: “If We Are Going To Make A Superfight, I Am Coming Down To 125!”

TJ Dillashaw was probably thinking he will face Demetrious Johnson after UFC 227. There were rumors about their super fight. TJ Dillashaw knocked Cody Garbrandt out cold at the main event of UFC 227 on August 4, 2018. Yet, Henry Cejudo shocked the world. He defeated Demetrious Johnson via split decision at the co-main event!

It probably means Killashaw won’t fight Mighty Mouse. TJ Dillashaw stated at the episode of Joe Rogan Experience MMA show that he is interested in a super fight. But at the moment, Viper targets Henry Cejudo. Cejudo earned a gold medal in wrestling at Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. Yet, TJ says MMA wrestling is completely different. “The Henry Cejudo thing entertains me so much because he’s a gold medalist,” Dillashaw told Rogan. “He wants to claim himself as the greatest combat athlete ever. ‘I’m a UFC champion, I’m a gold medalist!’ I’ll go out there and beat you in wrestling. MMA wrestling is completely different. I’m the better athlete. I can beat him anywhere, I know I can, watching him fight. That’s why I’m very excited about it. I think it’s the greatest thing for my name right now.”

TJ Dillashaw is the current UFC Bantamweight champion. Three angry challengers barely wait for the chance to dethrone him – Raphael Assuncao, Dominick Cruz, and Marlon Moraes.

When it comes to Henry Cejudo, a trilogy versus Demetrious Johnson might come as a realistic possibility. But Johnson hurt himself badly during their showdown. He even claimed he tore his right ACL, and possibly broke his foot. So Mighty Mouse will have to recover in the first place.

The whole situation leaves the door for the super fight wide open! TJ Dillashaw claims nothing is official yet. But Dillashaw and Cejudo were already put in front of the cameras on the media tour. They were told to trash-talk each other.

“There’s been nothing serious but there’s been hints and we did our media tour together and they put us on camera together and had us talk s**t to each other,” Dillashaw said. “They didn’t say that because everything is real but it’s like, ‘ Oh s**t, this is what you guys want! Okay, you really think you can beat me? Then f**k you man, let’s do this s**t!’”

As soon as Cejudo defeated Johnson, he called out Dillashaw Vs Garbrandt 2 winner. Cejudo claimed he deserves UFC Bantamweight title shot. TJ Dillashaw says he spoke to Henry Cejudo in the meantime. According to Dillashaw, Cejudo is willing to fight him at the Flyweight division.

“Hell yeah! [At] 125, absolutely,” Dillashaw said. “I don’t want no excuses that I’m the bigger man. . .

“He told me face to face he’s willing to do it at 125. That’s what he first said after the fight. He wanted the superfight, so he said he’d come up to 135. I said, ‘If we’re doing this, I’m coming down to 125’ and he said he had no problem with that.”

Would you like to see the super fight between TJ Dillashaw and Henry Cejudo? Do you think it could happen until the end of the year? Who is your favorite?
