As well as you know, UFC Flyweight division is in a serious trouble after Demetrious Johnson joined ONE FC. UFC plans to shut it down. But this super fight could mean a whisper of hope for the survival of 125-pound weight class.
Henry Cejudo (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) is a former Olympic gold medalist in wrestling and the man who dethroned “Mighty Mouse”. “The Messenger” successfully defeated “DJ” at UFC 227 on August 4, 2018, via split decision. Cejudo also defeated Sergio Pettis at UFC 218 on December 2, 2017, via unanimous decision. At UFC 215 on September 9, 2017, Cejudo earned a victory over Wilson Reis via second-round TKO.
TJ Dillashaw (16-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) was very dominant in his last three fights. “Killashaw” defeated Cody Garbrandt via TKO at UFC 227 on August 4, 2018. TJ was also better than “No Love” at UFC 217 on November 4, 2017, where he won via second-round TKO. “Viper” also earned a victory over John Lineker at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016, via unanimous decision.
Both fighters are in a great shape, with three wins in last three fights. TJ Dillashaw has never fought in Flyweight division. There is a chance this weight loss might weaken his performance. Also, Henry Cejudo is one of the best wrestlers in the UFC at the moment.
Can “Viper” put “The Messenger” to sleep? Will this be the last UFC Flyweight title match? Also, don’t forget Ryan Bader fights Fedor Emelianenko on the same day for Bellator Heavyweight title! Ladies and gentlemen, January 26th could be a special day for the lovers of mixed martial arts!
