UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz recently weighed in on the highly-anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and MMA legend, Anderson Silva.

Emanating from the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, ‘The Problem Child’ will face his toughest test yet against the former UFC middleweight champion on October 29th. Paul has a spotless record inside the squared circle, earning victories in his first five fights, though the social media star has received significant criticism for his choice of opponents. Often opting for athletes with no professional boxing experience, Paul will truly put his skills to the test against one of MMA’s most prolific strikers of all time.

Discussing the upcoming pay-per-view main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz shared his thoughts on the podcast ‘Chattin’ Pony‘ with Paddy Pimblett.

“I know he’s coming up on a fight now against Jake Paul,” said Ortiz. “I don’t think Jake Paul’s going to make it out of three rounds, and that’s my opinion, but I think it’s going to be a great fight because I know Jake Paul puts in great work.”

A UFC Hall of Famer, Tito Ortiz, believes Jake Paul will be unable to cope with Anderson Silva

While Jake Paul is earning some credit for stepping into the ring with a legendary striker, many, including Tito Ortiz, believe ‘The Problem Child’ is foolishly banking on his youth to outlast and outpunch the 47-year-old UFC icon.

“Jake Paul thinks him being 47 is going to make a difference? He’s gonna be in for a rude awakening,” Ortiz added. “One thing about Anderson, he takes this sport very seriously. He takes it as martial arts.”

While Ortiz never had the opportunity to share the Octagon with Anderson Silva, ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ got a taste of the Brazilian’s power when they met in a boxing match last year. Fighting on the same card that featured Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort, ‘The Spider’ made quick work of the controversial California native, knocking him out at 1:21 of the very first round.

Silva also turned heads three months prior to his showdown with Ortiz when he defeated boxing legend Julio Cesar Chaez Jr. via split decision.
