If Tito Ortiz never stepped in the Octagon, the MMA world would never know Huntington Beach existed. The city council needs to erect some sort of bronze statue in Tito Ortiz’s honor and place it directly in the center of downtown. Who cares if motorists have to add an extra fifteen minutes to their daily commute just to circumnavigate around Tito Ortiz’s head — it’s friggin’ Tito Ortiz. It’s hard not to love the guy. Aside from essentially inventing the technique of ‘ground-and-pound’ in mixed martial arts, he’s given us some of the most quotable moments in the sport’s history (well, definitely Affliction’s). Now that this newly released MMAHeat interview from Bellator surfaced, we have yet another reason to adore The Huntington Beach Bad Boy.
Check out what happens when Tito Ortiz decides to give the world an impromptu lesson about the origin of Russian fighters — specifically all of them being from some far-off land called ‘Bulgarium.’ Props to vuco KJV for the find.
