Till Is Baffled By Wonderboy’s Assumption Of Him: Why Is He Talking Trash About Me

‘Wonderboy’ originally distanced himself from the fight against a rising welterweight contender Darren Till due to nagging thumb injuries. Stephen Thompson after a little negotiating with the UFC decided to step up and take the challenge against “number seven guy” to prove his worth at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 130 event on May 27, 2018, in Liverpool, England.

Following his knockout win against Donald Cerrone in October 2017, Darren Till a 25-year-old Englishman expressed his interest in fighting Stephen Thompson. Since he is slated to face Wonderboy at Liverpool headliner, Till spoke to MMAFighting, that he is baffled by Thompson’s continues assumption of him:

“I really didn’t think it was Stephen Thompson when I was listening to him. He usually comes across as a good, respectful guy when he’s talking about his opponents. Why is he talking like that about me? Is he upset that he had to take the fight against me? You know, I’m a nobody as far as some people are concerned, but I really didn’t think that was the real Stephen Thompson. It’s going to be fun for me… and it might be fun for him too. We’re going to go in there and try to kill each other. Based on what he said I don’t think he knows what Liverpool people are all about.”

Darren Till (16-0-1) currently rides a three-fight winning streak in the UFC. Meanwhile, Thompson “Wonderboy” rebounded with a decision victory over Jorge Masvidal.

UFC Fight Night 130 is set to take place inside Echo Arena on May 27, 2018, in Liverpool, England and the card airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
