This look into MMA in the Middle East is pretty rawesome

People in the Middle East take martial arts pretty seriously. Some countries actually teach JiuJitsu and Krav Maga in grade school to insure that kids know how to defend themselves. That kind of stuff would be far too controversial in America. Here, the media is hell-bent on insuring that we have absolutely no way of defending ourselves. It’s only a matter of time before water guns and frying pans are considered dangerous weapons and we’ll have to use old VCRs to protect us from violent attacks. We hope you remember to take out the videotapes before using one as a shield. Chances are, you don’t have a digital copy of your sister’s sweet sixteen and she’ll hate you forever if you ruin it.

Luckily, it’s not like that in Jordan. These guys have some of the most diverse martial arts training anywhere, and fighters from around the world come to diversify their skillsets. Despite popular belief, even women are welcome. Check out this great mini-documentary courtesy of Vice.
