Thiago Santos Knock Out Jimi Manuwa In A Wild Brawl

A light heavyweight bout between Jimi Manuwa and Thiago Santos kick off the UFC 231 PPV main event which went down tonight (Sat, Dec 8, 2018) from inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Santos enters tonight’s showdown on a two-fight winning streak, with his recent victory came against Eryk Anders via third-round TKO this past September.

Meanwhile, Jimi Manuwa who enters with a two-fight losing streak. Most recently “Poster Boy” is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jan Błachowicz at UFC London earlier in March of 2018.

Early on Santos dropped Manuwa twice with a counter combination. Santos continues pouring on the pressure and wobbles Manuwa with his wicked shots but Manuwa eventually able to recover along with the cage, and the battle was on. Both fighters exchanged absolute haymakers throughout the first five minutes. Manuwa rocked Santos along the fence, but the Brazilian somehow recovers and able to survive for the second round.

By the second frame, Brazilian managed to catch Manuwa with a few wild power punches that dropped Manuwa on the mat and ended the fight.

With the win, Santos now riding on a three-fight win streak in a row and seven of eight. Manuwa (17-5) has now lost three straight.
