There’s free European MMA this week and you never knew about it until today

Everyone’s a fan of celebrations, especially if there is buffet food and cake followed by whiskey and dancing, topped off with some street MMA. We are halfway through June, a month so concentrated with MMA that a thimbleful would be enough to kill most men, which certainly calls for a celebration. Perhaps implying an overload of MMA would kill you was slightly dramatic, but you may be at risk from adrenal fatigue due to the overwhelming awesomeness of hearing about two free live events.

“Cage Warriors Fight Night 1” goes down tonight at Le Royal Hotel in Amman, Jordan, and you can view all six featured bouts live and for free via CageWarriors at 7pm (UK Time), 9pm (Local Time), 2pm (Eastern US time) or, via the TV screen on Premier Sports TV (UK), Setanta Sports 1 (Ireland), Setanta Africa (Africa), The Fight Network (Canada), and Fight Now TV (USA). Headlined by Andreas “Big Daddy” Kraniotakes who looking to bounce back from his loss at WFC 13 against Jay “Mean Streak” Mortimore (6-1-0), the card also features Jake Hecht looking to go 3-0 in 2011 against Euro MMA mainstay Michele “Maximus” Verginelli (13-8-1). The full card can be viewed on the Cage Warriors’ website.

The second free event comes on Saturday as ambitious new Scottish promotion On Top hold their second event in Glasgow, Scotland. This will be broadcast for free on Ustream with the main attraction being a four man welterweight tournament to decide the first holder of this. Also of note, Englishman Mick Bowman, who you may remember from TUF 13 will be fighting at catch-weight against Scotland’s Kieran Malone as well as Sean Wright, previously on TV as part of The Contender Asia looking to make an impact in MMA by facing off against American Richard Edwards. Although there is no buffet food or cake, any MMA fan would agree that two free events is a very suitable way to celebrate anything.
