There's a petition in the White House to make MMA the national sport of the United States of America

Alright folks, everyone that said they would leave America after President Obama was reelected need to pack their bags and hit up Expedia. If you live in Hollywood, CA and live in a nice loft in The Hills — feel free to leave the country but cut me an excellent deal on your place before you do so. I could use the extra leg room. Besides, I need some place to store these Pride FC tapes that I’ve been lugging around for years. Be warned that if you do leave the country, you just may miss out on one of the most revolutionary inclusions in modern American history. No, not Obama Care silly. We’re talking about having mixed martial arts as the national sport of the United States of America.

In the White House, there’s currently a petition to ‘Declare mixed martial arts (MMA) the de facto national sport of the United States of America.’ In order for the US government to make an official response on the petition, it needs 25,000 signatures by December 13th 2012. At the time of this article being published, the petition currently has 5. Check out the petition below.

we petition the obama administration to:
Declare mixed martial arts (MMA) the de facto national sport of the United States of America.

We the people wish to declare the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) the national sport of the United States of America. We ask the Obama administration to make this de facto.

Every region has indigenous martial arts. Therefore this is something the entire world shares in common. The United States of America leads the way in promoting an organization which provides a crossroads for all martial arts– the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), thus bringing the world together.

You can sign the petition yourself at the White House’s official website. Don’t forget to gather about 5,000 of your friends to do so as well. Hey, it’s worth a shot.
