Conor McGregor has revealed that he is following a spiritual journey, leaning on his faith in God while preparing for his UFC comeback at the White House event next summer. The former two-division UFC champion and part-owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship spoke about how this period has allowed him to reflect on life, rebuild his mindset, and find a renewed sense of purpose.
Recently, during his appearances at BKFC events, McGregor emphasized the close, family-like atmosphere within the promotion. At the pre-fight activities for BKFC 83 in Rome, he expanded on how these experiences connect with his personal journey and inner growth, highlighting the alignment between his professional and spiritual paths.
“I am not here just by chance,” McGregor said. “There is a higher power, God, that dictates my journey and all of our journeys, and I live my life by God’s word. Since around the time of the last event, I’ve engaged on a spiritual journey, and I am saved. I’m saved, and I am healed. On the back of that, the world is in for a treat. My competitive spark, that was once in my heart, is now a roaring blaze. So, I’m very excited.
“I envy these men and women up here on this dais. They’re right about to make weight, and enjoy and entertain, and do what they were called to do – as am I called to do it. I’m eager to get back. Right now, I’ve had to dial myself in and go inward – and that, I’ve done. I’m very, very excited to come back my own self.”
McGregor has accomplished what few fighters ever have. He has captured two UFC titles and competed in a blockbuster boxing match against undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather, cementing his status as the biggest star in MMA. Beyond fighting, he has generated substantial wealth through multiple business ventures.
Alongside these achievements, McGregor has also faced numerous legal issues over the years, including traffic violations and more serious accusations, such as being found liable for sexual assault. These experiences, he says, contribute to his desire to leave a legacy of lessons.
“I would like to leave a legacy that can be looked upon as a lesson,” McGregor said. “You seen with me what works. I showed what works, and also, I showed what doesn’t work. Now I’m in a stage where I come back and show again what I’m about.”

The Irish superstar has not fought since suffering a broken leg in the trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Despite injuries and off-cage controversies, McGregor insists his UFC comeback, likely scheduled for the White House event next summer, remains on track.
BKFC Titles on the Line
He continues to balance his fighting career with his role in BKFC, where he highlighted the family-like environment among fighters and staff.
McGregor is excited for the upcoming Saturday night bouts. In the co-main event, interim champion Ben Bonner faces off against stripped champion Franco Tenaglia in the semi-final of the BKFC World Title Lightweight Tournament.
Meanwhile, in the main event, UFC veteran Chris Camozzi puts his cruiserweight title on the line against Italy’s Alessio Sakara, promising an intense clash that fans won’t want to miss.
While some may question whether this spiritual awakening is a new phase or another reinvention, McGregor emphasizes that his focus is now on internal growth and demonstrating what he can achieve with the guidance of God and lessons learned from his past.
