Yes, I get it. The Mayweather/Pacquiao fight wasn’t great, and there was a lot of stalling in the hugging fashion. Sometimes these things happen in boxing. It looks like Uncle Dana gave the go-ahead to the UFC social media team to try and cash in on what will likely be called the combat sports event of 2015 (despite its quality) by trying to create some shitty memes. Take this one posted to the UFC Facebook. They aren’t letting this hugging thing go.
This is what happens when you hug in the octagon, even though this isn’t a hug it’s a takedown attempt into a beautiful throw by Ronda Rousey. So none of this actually makes sense. Oh well. This is what you have to do when your entire year of revenue is equaled in one fighter’s payday in a boxing match. Think about it. Joe Lauzon keeps on saying how thrilled he is to sign a new contract and how well he’s done on bonuses, when he only has 13 $50K bonuses. Wow, $650K before taxes is so impressive. Mayweather has probably wiped his ass with $650K over the years.
Anyway… Not a hug. The UFC is turning into an angry grandpa. So unhip.
