The first Sunday Morning Rumor Mill on the new site, and after one of the most historic nights in MMA history. This week’s SMRM is Anderson Silva heavy, as many of you would expect. I know many of you are still trying to grasp on to some sort of understanding after the wake of Chris Weidman’s KO over The Spider. Well, don’t read this feature for any closure. In fact, this is just going to bring more questions than it will answers.

.This week’s rumor mill would be meaningless if we didn’t discuss Anderson Silva and him intentionally losing to Chris Weidman at UFC 162. One theory states that Anderson Silva was simply tired of defending the title and in order to do other things with this combat sports career (like boxing Roy Jones Jr.) he needed to lose a fight to lower his status in the MMA world.
.Another interesting theory regarding Anderson Silva losing is that Silva was consulted before the fight to take a dive in order for Chris Weidman to be the champion and place further pressure on New York legislatures to legalize MMA in the state.
.An Instagram picture was recently released of Nick Diaz claiming he wants to fight again in the UFC. That picture (and corresponding message) is rumored to be released by Nick Diaz’s ex-girlfriend, not him.
.Apparently if Anderson Silva successfully defended his belt at UFC 162, Roy Jones Jr. was going to enter the cage and challenge Anderson Silva to a match. Unclear as to what ‘match’ it was, but it’s safe to assume it would have been boxing.
.Not really a rumor, more like a confirmation that I’m probably not supposed to tell you guys. However, as of last night, EA Sports will alter Anderson Silva’s stats in the upcoming EA UFC game being released next year.
.Not only Vitor Belfort, but Michael Bisping blew up Dana White’s cell phone asking for a title shot against Chris Weidman.
.Someone allegedly bet $1 million on Chris Weidman last night and Las Vegas is investigating it.
