At the UFC’s “The Time is Now” press conference featuring nearly 20 fighters on stage, the only athlete not to get asked a question by fans or media was Clarence Byron Dollaway. Some call him C.B, some call him “The Doberman” but at UFC Fight Night 58 Dollaway is one upset away from being called the number one contender in the UFC’s middleweight division. Dollaway could run the UFC’s 185 pound division with an iron fist.
Not if but when Dollaway knocks out Lyoto Machida in the main event UFC Fight Night 58, from his couch in California or on twitter Joe Rogan will declare 2015 the “Dollaway Era”. B.C.B (before Clarence Byron) will be a time long forgotten after Dollaway dispatches Machida in front of 20,000 angry Brazilian fans.
The stands will be filled with fans wearing maroon Arizona State University wrestling singlets during the Dollaway era. The UFC will advertise a bring your “Doberman Pinscher to the arena” day and 20,000 dogs with really cute pointy ears will bark in unison during the Dollaway era.
If Machida loses the Dollaway era will be born. The MMA world is just one punch or wacky judge’s split decision away from the most pet friendly time in UFC history.
