The moment I heard Nick Diaz was getting the welterweight title shot, I bought my plane tickets then booked a four day stint at the Mandalay Bay resort and casino. Getting a chance to stay at your favorite hotel on Halloween weekend and seeing Diaz take on GSP with Cro Cop, BJ Penn and more was too good to be true for me. And it was too good to be true. If you haven’t heard, Nick decided to run out Cesar Gracie’s back door in Stockton while Dana White was looking for him, so he got stripped of his title shot and the main event and co main event got the switcharoo treatment. But it’s cool, these non refundable plane tickets aren’t going to use themselves.
