Takaya Hiroyuki vs. Robert Peralta slated for Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley

At last we have some finality to the roster of Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley, albeit highly unofficial but incredibly probable. Japan’s Bout Review is reporting that Takaya has agreed to face 13-3 San Diego native, Robert Peralta, on April 9th. Initially we read that Takaya would be moving up in weight to face Shinya Aoki at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley, but whoever told us that needs to be slapped in the face with a cheese grate. They were wrong, and subsequently we were wrong too. It would be silly for Strikeforce to pit two Japanese fighters against each other in a card hosted entirely in California. FEG would no longer be able to create one of those wild Japan vs. USA promos. However, judging by our MMA track record, I think America won that race (aside from Kawajiri defeating Josh Thomson at Dynamite!! 2010).

Look for this bout to be confirmed within the next couple days so we can point our finger at the entire MMA world and proclaim ‘We told you so’. [Source]
