- Superlek stopped Jonathan Haggerty to become the ONE Muay Thai bantamweight champion
- Aung La N Sang was finished by Shamil Erdogan via TKO
Superlek became the new ONE Muay Thai Champion after a first-round knockout win but Aung La N Sang experienced a devastating defeat at ONE 168.
A quick bout to the gold
Superlek did not fail to deliver in his bantamweight title fight with Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado. The kickboxing flyweight champ made quick work of Haggerty to secure the bantamweight strap.
Despite coming in aggressive, Haggerty was sent straight to the canvas by Superlek’s vicious elbow. The two-sport sensation did not manage to get back on his feet in 10 seconds, making “The Kicking Machine” the winner via knockout after 49 seconds.

The ONE legend suffered a tough loss
On the other hand, Aung La did not have the same success as Superlek. “The Burmese Python” succumbed to the striking prowess of Dagestani brawler Shamil Erdogan.
Early in the fight, Erdogan landed a hard right hand that wobbled the ONE legend and hoped to finish the job on the ground by shooting for a takedown. After dominating Aung La on the ground, Erdogan mauled “The Burmese Python” in the second round.
Aung La showed heart by trying to survive but Edrogan’s ground-and-pound proved to be too much for the 39-year-old. Referee Herb Dean decided to stop the fight to avoid Erdogan from inflicting further damage on Aung La, making the Dagestani the winner via TKO.

Aung La has never lost via TKO since 2013. He was last finished by an opponent in 2020 when Reinier de Ridder submitted him via rear-naked choke. On the other hand, his last win came by way of submission when he tapped Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10.
Superlek, meanwhile, is now the reigning ONE Muay Thai bantamweight champion and ONE Kickboxing flyweight champion.
