Strikeforce+M-1 Global+Affliction = Voltron?

How can everyone ignore the 900lb gorilla inside the MMA cage last night? We all knew of M-1 Global and Affliction’s cooperative effort a few months ago with their Affliction 2 card in Janurary. Nothing new here. But did anyone notice all the M-1 Global and Affliction advertising on Saturday night’s Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields? Before the main bout, the announcer even told us we should watch Affliction 3: Trilogy on August 1st. We already know we’re going to watch Affliction 3. That’s like someone telling you to breathe. It’s a natural reaction like kicking when someone hits you in the knee or following a hot chick around a college campus for an hour until you look up and  realize you have no idea where you are (don’t even act like you havent done this).

I’m going to play conspiracy theory expert here because I think all of this ties into the MMA game that was announced by EA Sports just a few days ago. They’re trying to get this perfect ‘overhand right in the eye’ MMA union so that when this game drops, all the other MMA organizations (that isnt UFC) will be connected right into this game. Alright, that’s possibility #1.

Possibility #2 is that Strikeforce, M-1 Global and Affliction are actually parts of the same robot. Individually they are a force but combined they will form some type of megaton MMA robot that will be able to compete with the rhinosauraus-like force of the UFC (Isnt that the whole point of WAMMA?). Regardless of what happens, its a win/win situation for us. By combining organizations, we get to see more mma more often and a greater diversity of talent. And if the EA MMA videogame theory is true, that means we can see matchups within the game like Bobby Lashley and Brett Rogers. If you have a delorean, get a flux capicitor, set it to 1.21 gigawatz go into the future and let me know if its true (and left me know if Kristin Kreuk will know I finally exist). And yes that is a picture of Voltron training on a speedbag.
