- Stipe Miocic suggests he’s fine and Tom Aspinall lied by saying he is injured
- Some fans still call for Miocic’s withdrawal from his title fight with Jon Jones
Stipe Miocic reassured everybody that he isn’t injured and Tom Aspinall was lying. However, some fans still urged him to pull out from his upcoming title fight with Jon Jones.
It’s fake news
Eager to be on Miocic’s place, Aspinall claimed he was told that the former UFC heavyweight champion got injured while in training camp. Miocic then quickly dismissed the rumor and called it “fake news.”
“I’m hearing rumors that Stipe is potentially injured, this is stuff that I’m hearing from (my) inner circle, Stipe I believe his birthday was yesterday actually. He’s 42-years-old the guy is gonna be injury-prone,” Aspinall said on his official YouTube channel.

Fans want Stipe out
Prior to the rumor, Aspinall has already been calling for the withdrawal of Miocic from his title fight with “Bones.” For “Honey Badger,” Miocic doesn’t present a strong case to become Jones’ rightful opponent as he is old and has been inactive for too long.
Apparently, some fans echo the same sentiment. Despite Miocic insisting he is healthy and ready, fans still want him out of the picture.
Check out what they had to say below:
“Please pull out anyway.”
“10 dollars to dropout.”
“I’ll pay you $3.50 to pull out right now.”
“Haha. Let’s get this thing going man, we all want to see Tom fight Jon Jones.”
“Stipe, please. Take an injury. Force Jon to retire or fight Aspinall. It’ll be hilarious.”
“What’s the deal with this fight anyway Stipe? 100% everyone knows you lose so..”
It has been confirmed that Aspinall would be the backup fighter for the Jones vs. Miocic title fight. As for the date, the long-awaited heavyweight showdown is reportedly set to take place at UFC 309 on November 9th at the Madison Square Garden.
