Aljamain Sterling is down to fight Henry Cejudo next.
Sterling became the undisputed UFC bantamweight champion after a split decision victory over Petr Yan in their title unification bout at UFC 273 last night.
Soon after, Sterling set his sights on former champion TJ Dillashaw, who was in attendance, with many believing that’s the fight to be made next.
Cejudo Teases Return… Again.
However, one other former champion also put his name in the hat, and that was Cejudo who teased returning to the USADA drug testing pool.
“I’m getting back in the pool!”
I’m getting back in the pool!

Aljamain Sterling Ready To Demote Henry Cejudo To ‘Double C’
When told of Cejudo’s tweet during his post-fight press conference, Sterling seemed more than willing to take on the former flyweight and bantamweight champion.
“If the Muppet wants to come back and Triple C wants to get demoted to Double C, then we can do that. Henry Cejudo, get back in that pool and we can talk.”
To that, Cejudo responded:
“Listen Aljamain Stalling…you got lucky against Petr Yawn. I’ve seen better Decisions on 90 Day Fiancé. @funkmasterMMA”

Whether it will actually happen remains to be seen as Cejudo has been targeting a comeback title fight ever since his retirement in 2020.
For now, it looks like Dillashaw is the safe bet to be Sterling’s next opponent.
