The first time we interviewed King Mo, dude was preparing for his M-1 Global fight with Don Frye. It was slated to be King Mo’s first MMA bout on American soil and the first time he would be forced to take off his shoes during the fight. He told us that he was ‘saving his feet for when bigger things come’. Don Frye eventually dropped out of the bout because the ‘Russians’ weren’t come through on their ‘end of the deal’ and was replaced with Mark Kerr, a guy who King Mo finished in just twenty-five seconds. In King Mo’s Strikeforce debut, he delivered a first round KO directly to Mike Whitehead’s dome and internet forums blew up with ‘Dude, King Mo has never been tested’ and ‘Put Mousasi in the cage to shut up Mo’. Those trolls got their wish and in a grueling five-round territorial war (if you think that was ‘Lay n’ Pray’, you’ve lost your mind and unfortunately I don’t have the time to help you find it), King Mo became the new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion. FightMatrix has released their statistic based, computer generated MMA rankings and King Mo is now the 4th ranked Light Heavyweight in the world. Now can we get a little Stanislav Nedkov vs. King Mo action next?
