Sofiane Boukichou Broke His Tibia In A Fight Against Tom Aspinall
This weekend we got to witness some untasteful finishes in MMA events. Yesterday Bellator 215’s main header bout ended after just 15 seconds when Matt Mitrione landed a hellacious kick into Sergei Kharitonov’s groin which landed him to the hospital afterward. Then on Friday, the Invicta FC 34’s main event title fight was stopped after Vanessa Porto suffered a nasty eye injury in a match against Vanessa Porto.
In the main event of Cage Warriors 101, Sofiane Boukichou and Tom Aspinall clashed in a heavyweight fight which went down Saturday (Feb 16, 2019) from inside Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. A match ended into a disaster.
Sofiane Boukichou suffered a brutal leg injury while attempting to low kick at Tom Aspinall. Boukichou broke his leg in the same fashion that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva suffered in a rematch against Chris Weidman back in 2013 at UFC 168.
Check the gruesome injury below:
An unfortunate ending to our main event here at #CW101.
