So it’s true, Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones will be the coaches on the next TUF

Would it be too cliche of me to tell you guys that we knew about this weeks ago? The real question is, am I even using cliche in the correct way? Let’s see — ‘an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has been overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect.’ I guess that would make Mike Goldberg’s ‘virtually identical’ statement a definite cliche. If they’re virtually identical — then how are they fighting each other? How did the government invent technology to virtually replicate people and how did UFC get access to such a device? If the UFC does have this secret technology — then why is Mike Golderg squawking about it to millions of people across the world? They should keep that stuff secret or else the terrorists will win.

Let’s give it up to Lance Pugmire from the LA Times who accurately reported that Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen have been specially selected to be the coaches on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Here’s an excerpt from his interview with Dana White.

“The Ultimate Fighter” with Jones and Sonnen is set to begin shooting on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, with a debut in early January as young middleweights participate in a tournament that leads up to an April “TUF” finale at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel, where the winner will receive a multi-fight UFC contract.

“This should be a good one,” White said of matching arguably his organization’s best fighter against its top personality. “Jon has accepted the fight. He knows the fans want to see that fight.”

Chael Sonnen just got two consecutive title shots in two different weight classes — now what have you done today? With the tryouts being in Las Vegas, we’ll be sure to get LayzieTheSavage inside the gated walls of the UFC thunder dome to get some exclusive video. Oh, and I know it’s really ‘cliché.’
