Look, it’s fine to admit that you’ve probably spent a few hours watching a bunch of Russian teens doing “parkour” on YouTube a few years ago. We all did it because, at the time, it was really beyond incredible. I mean, kids just doing crazy stuff, climbing up anything and everything and usually adding some sort of sweet flip at the end to really put an exclamation point on the whole thing. That is partially what made 2008’s Mirror’s Edge such an awesome game. It was like a first person parkour game where you also got to beat up dudes, all while jumping from rooftop to rooftop in a crazy, modern setting.
Mirror’s Edge 2 has been rumored for a while now, with listings of it even popping up on some Amazon sites in Europe. We all have suspected that it was coming for a while now, but everything from DICE and EA has been sort of noncommittal about it. So imagine my surprise when I’m watching the EA E3 conference and all of a sudden see some pretty awesome stuff that looks like Mirror’s Edge. Of course it is Mirror’s Edge, well technically it is Mirror’s Edge 2. Even better.
So go ahead and watch this trailer, which a keen eye will notice the sweet armbar takeover and will also notice that it’s coming “when it’s ready.”
