As MMA commentators and analysts, Anthony Smith and Michael Bisping meet weekly on their YouTube channel to discuss some of the sport’s hottest topics. They often break down fights, speak about ongoing fields, and go over some hot topics in the social media space. This week they are discussing the pending lawsuit between Israel Adesanya and his ex-girlfriend.

This has been a topic that many UFC fighters have been wanting to weigh in on. According to reports UFC middleweight champion Adesanya is being sued by his former girlfriend following their break up. She is asking for half of his assets backdated from when they were together, which is an undisclosed amount of time. Adesanya has publicly taken shots at her on a social media page saying she never paid for anything and only cost him money.

This topic has been spoken about at length by many UFC fighters including Aljamain Sterling, and Sean O’Malley. Now Smith and Bisping are weighing in with their feelings on the subject.

“Should have got married, should have had a baby,” Bisping said. “You know what I mean? I’m sorry. I’m really don’t agree with her. I’m kind of on Izzy’s side. If that makes me a male chauvinistic pig, that maybe I am. He claimed she never gave him any money only cost him money… she just wants a bit of that dough.”

Although neither man was really too clear on the details regarding the relationship or the laws in New Zealand where Adesanya resides they both decided to take the side of Adesanya.

“I get what she’s trying to get at, but if you’re not married, I don’t know what the common-law laws are like where they live. I don’t know. But if they’re not married, and like there was no agreement I think she’s just being fucking bitter,” Smith said.

Adesanya has risen back to champion status in the UFC following his last win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287. He has been going back and forth with upcoming contender Dricus Du Plessis and seems interested in fighting him next however Du Plessis must first defeat Robert Whittaker who he has lined up next.
