My backyard is infested with four leaf clovers. I still haven’t won the lottery yet. In essence, my backyard was synonymous to Yushin Okami’s UFC career. In his five years in the organization, he’s racked up a record of 10-2, never been finished and has essentially been the sole representation of Japanese MMA in the USA. Okami has absolutely no tattoos because he believes tattoos are ‘evil’. However, if someone were to get a tattoo of Jesus Christ or Mother Teresa, that may create some paradox in Okami’s belief of aesthetic epidermal abrasions. Dana White validated my opinion of Yushin Okami when he gave him a title shot. He’s the only person in the UFC to have ever defeated Anderson Silva and he did it via…a disqualification from an illegal kick. It’s still a W on Okami’s record and an L on Silva’s which is something Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin, Chris Leben, Demian Maia, Patrick Côté, Nate Marquardt, Jeremy Horn and not even Lee Murray can claim. Granted, Murray pulled off the biggest bank heist in history so in some strange way, he gets the last laugh.
