Video: Jose Shorty Torres Wins the Interim Titan FC Flyweight Title With a Knee Knockout

Sometimes, all a person needs is a shot. Maybe a guy calls in sick and you get a promotion, or you could be one alternate away from a chance at Olympic gold. Well, Last night at Titan FC 40 Jose “Shorty” Torres got his shot and he made the most of it. In just his third professional fight, Torres knocked Abdiel Velazquez out with a knee to grab the Titan FC Flyweight title.

While the current champion Tim Elliot is going to be competing in the 24th season of The Ultimate Fighter, a new star was born. Torres put on a straight clinic on Velazquez, taking him to Suplex City and then pounding him for what had to be at least a 10-8 first round.

Torres almost choked him out, but it ended up being a blitz ending in that brutal knee to collapse Velazquez on the mat for the win. To put the cherry on top, Torres was awarded the knockout bonus. Watch. This. Man.

Check out the KO below and see a star in the making.
