Retired NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Tested His Octagon Skills Versus Forrest Griffin And Claudia Gadelha, Dana White Was The Referee
Shaquille O’Neal is one of the strongest basketball centers of all time. Even Yao Ming couldn’t push him away from the basket when he grabs the ball and starts pivoting. He is also a very big fan of UFC. In the past, “Shaq” was even mentioning a showdown versus Hong Man Choi. Considering the fact that both of them weigh over 140kg, it could have been “the collision of Goliaths” if it happened. But the famous basketball legend didn’t fight. Until now!
Shaquille O’Neal decided to test his octagon skills against two dangerous rivals. The first opponent was the former UFC Light Heavyweight champion and Hall Of Famer Forrest Griffin. In the case he survives, the next five minutes was reserved for UFC Strawweight superstar Claudia Gadelha. Dana White was the referee. What a spectacle!

“I was only worried about not getting submitted,” he said. “I’ve been doing it (MMA) but not on the level he has so I just had to stay safe and play it safe. But he was a strong fella and he said the same thing about me. I’m gonna blow my head up pretty high for not getting submitted because when you cross over into somebody’s sport talking all that trash you better be able to back it up.”

The match started well for Shaquille O’Neal who took Forrest Griffin down and ended up in the full guard. Griffin went for the Omoplata attempt but “Shaq” slipped out of it. The former UFC champ ended up in the side control but O’Neal miraculously escaped and ended up in the top position again. The fight lasted for five minutes and fighters were changing dominant positions.
Shaquille O’Neal was exhausted. Claudia Gadelha came in fresh and attacked O’Neal from behind, wrapping her arms around his neck. Despite “Shaq” is more powerful, he didn’t even try to defend a rear-naked choke attempt. He tapped out after 2-3 seconds. “Claudinha” ended up this spectacle, but you know the funny thing? She was unable to wrap her legs around O’Neal’s mid-section due to his dimensions!
All the time, the crowd was encouraging the retired NBA legend. In the end, he was rewarded with applause! What do you think, did Shaquille O’Neal demonstrated some good MMA skills? After all, surviving five minutes against a legend like Forrest Griffin isn’t an easy task at all! Would you like to see this 216 cm tall giant participating in an MMA fight?
