Sengoku: Soul of Fight went down this morning and here are the results

If you weren’t located in Japan this morning (which would technically be last night in Japanese time), then you missed perhaps one of the wildest Sengoku cards to ever grace MMA. The entire card will air on HDNet at some point in January, but the current buzz is that there are about four fight-of-the-year candidates along with some incredible and unexpected knockouts. Thanks to the recent invention of the internet, we have the results right here for you along with some detailed notes.

Roxanne Modafferi did not participate in Sengoku: Soul of Fight due to a nasty case of the flu. She’s disappointed, and says that she missed her chance to make a name for herself in Japanese MMA, but she hopes the opportunity will arise again (she was also favored in her fight against Hitomi Akano). Perhaps the most extraordinary result is Hatsu Hioki dominating Marlon Sandro in every aspect of their five round title fight. From what I’ve been told, the fight wasn’t even close. Hioki dictated where the fight would take place, and outstruck Sandro throughout every round of the fight.
