Sean Strickland ran a training session with some of the best fighters in the UFC.
UFC middleweight Sean Strickland can sometimes rub people the wrong way. His outspoken nature can sometimes put people off, but he is one of the best fighters in the UFC these days. He is currently ranked seventh in the stacked UFC middleweight division. Strickland is well respected in the fight game and was recently seen running a training session for some of the best fighters in the UFC.
Strickland was the subject of a day in the life-style video shot by Youcef Hollywood on YouTube. In the video, he is seen leading a sparring and warmup session with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev, Darren Till, and Chris Curtis. Strickland instructed the men to pair up and begin to train. He pairs up with Till but first gives Chimaev a little talking to.
“Be nice. You’re better than everybody so just don’t hurt people,” Stickland said to Chimaev.
Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev are both nearing title shot territory
Strickland has a fight coming up in October when he will take on Jared Cannonier. It is a big fight in the division as Cannonier is ranked number two. Chimaev also has a possible title contention fight coming up as he takes on Nate Diaz in his last UFC fight, also in October. Till has found a budding friendship with Chimaev and was there training as well but has not fought since September of last year. He did have a fight against Jack Hermansson scheduled for July but he pulled out with an injury. The man who replaced him, Chris Curtis was at this training session also.

Chimaev was mentioned as having a bit too much gusto in training. Strickland later turned to Till to express the exact sentiment.
“He just goes too hard, man,” he said of Chimaev.
Strickland’s last time out in the cage was a loss to Alex Pereira who was awarded a title shot for the win. All the men training in this video at the Las Vegas MMA facility are looking to make their way up to titles in their respective divisions. If the saying “Iron sharpens iron” is true these guys have the right idea.
