Sean Strickland insists he is fighting for the title next and took a swipe at Khamzat Chimaev.

Sean is manifesting

UFC president Dana White previously confirmed that “Tarzan” will be the next middleweight title challenger. However, many are convinced that “Borz” deserves a title shot following his brutal first-round submission win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.

Amidst the buzz, Strickland declared himself as Dricus du Plessis’ next opponent in a January or February 2025 showdown. Moreover, the former UFC middleweight champ also dissed Chimaev in typical Strickland fashion.

“Understand one thing…. I am next in line….. Its been said, its been written… January/February me and @dricusduplessis are scrapping,” Strickland wrote on X. “Go back to Chechnya and wait a few months….. wait.. sorry UAE… you’re not allowed in Chechnya…But hey crypto scams while you wait.”

Khamzat is expected to shakeup the middleweight landscape

Chimaev took on Whittaker as the No. 13 middleweight contender. After his spectacular performance against the former champ, “Borz” will certainly climb up several spots in the official rankings and possibly even break into the division’s Top 5.

That said, a massive shakeup is bound to happen at the 185-pound division. However, it is still yet to be known whether or not the UFC matchmakers would put Chimaev over Strickland in the title mix.
