Sean Strickland is receiving some heat for what he just said… but then again, when is he not receiving backlash?

The controversial UFC Middleweight continues to speak his mind, despite it getting him into some trouble on social media. As you may already know, Strickland is no stranger to speaking on politics. He’d recently talk down on Ukraine, saying they should give up to Russia.

Strickland would get quite a bit of backlash from those comments, but he isn’t going to shut his mouth anytime soon about Russia or other politics.

$10M is $10M

In his latest installment, Strickland would say he’d even fight for Russia… for a paycheck that is.

“If Russia offered me 10 million to fight the United States, give me a gun and tell me where to point to lmao!” Strickland wrote on an Instagram story.

“What I’m trying to say is my loyalty lies to no flag or story.”

What He Means By That

Strickland would of course get some controversy for this one. The UFC star would later make a video in response to all of the criticism he had been getting. He would try to explain it as best he can.

“So I got a lot of hate for saying I would be a mercenary for Russia if they paid me enough, even against America.” Strickland continued. “Let me explain to you f*cking Peter Pans, let’s just say there was an American and a Russian sitting on their knees. And there was a guy with a gun saying ‘hey, you have to pick a side, shoot the Russian or the American’.

“At the end of the day, I’m not going to shoot the Russian just cause he has a f*cking Russian flag. I’m going to look at the guy and say, ‘who’s paying me more?’

Shortly after making the video, Strickland would reveal he has now been ‘shadowbanned’ from Instagram. Tough luck.

Sean Strickland last defeated Jack Hermansson by unanimous decision. He is now closer than ever to a UFC title shot, but will likely need one more win to secure it.
