Sean Strickland thinks Khamzat Chimeav is so far above Nate Diaz skill-wise that he doesn't even have to train for the fight.

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland is working with Khamzat Chimaev in the lead-up to his upcoming bout with Nate Diaz. Strickland was seen leading a training session with some of the biggest names in the UFC including Chimaev, Darren Till, and Chris Curtis. During the session, Strickland raved about how good Chimaev is and was in awe of how hard he goes during training. Now as the rising star Chimaev gets ready for the veteran Diaz, Strickland knows that Chimaev is levels above his scheduled opponent.

Chimaev came into the UFC back in 2020 and immediately began to turn heads. With three wins in just a few weeks’ time, Chimaev proved that he was going to be a problem from the get-go. He has now won five UFC bouts and is undefeated at 11-0. Chimaev could be on the fast track for a title shot but must first get past the longtime fighter Diaz. These two will collide at UFC 279 on September 10 in a non-title main event bout. Chimaev is doing some of his training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas under the watchful eye of Strickland.

Strickland has interviewed by The Schmo this week and was asked about Chimaev. He explained that the skillset between Chimaev and Diaz is incomparable.

“I don’t know man, do you have to get ready for Nate Diaz? Did the UFC just say hey, Khamzat, we love you, come f–king beat up this old man,” Strickland said. “When’s the last time he won a fight? But either way, so I don’t even think Khamzat really has to get ready for it. He’s probably just gonna roll in not even training coming off the couch and just go and you know, destroy him.”

Strickland also has a fight to get ready for. He will be taking on Jared Cannonier on Oct. 15. The group of men getting ready at Xtreme Couture are all some of the best in their divisions. They are working together to achieve their individual goals which are to win the UFC title.
