Sean Strickland thinks racism in 2024 is…complicated.
Recently, the outspoken UFC star was labeled “racist and homophobic” by Machine Gun Kelly during the Grammy-nominated artist’s appearance on the IMPAULSIVE podcast with Logan Paul. The comments came months after the two nearly tussled while attending a Power Slap event in Las Vegas over Super Bowl weekend.
Since then, Strickland has hurled a plethora of insults MGK, calling him a “weirdo” and likening him to a “goth South Park character.”
Taking so social media, Strickland responded to MGK dubbing him a racist by explaining that while he’s not a racist in the traditional sense—or so he says—what constitutes racism has seemingly changed in recent years and now he’s not sure what side of the fence he sits on.
“You know man I don’t want to be lectured by a guy who drinks blood and wears purses,” Strickland said in a video on X. “But you might be right. 2024 racism is complicated you guys… [Back in the day] somebody didn’t like somebody by their skin color, they were f*cking racist. Now it’s f*cking complicated… There could be a group of little white hoodlums wearing gang colors, sagging pants, looking like f*cking criminals, and by me saying, ‘I think they are criminals’ that makes me a racist…
“These people could be representing a culture of a color and by you not liking them you are f*cking racist. This is how f*cking insane the world is.”

Fans React to Sean Strickland
Responding to the above clip, a large number of fight fans were quick to support the former middleweight champion with one suggesting that “When everything’s racist, nothing is racist.”
“Pretty much. Say anything, it can be made to fit an accusation such as racism or bigotry,” one commenter wrote.
“This is actually so true. Sean dropping the white trash knowledge I needed today,” another added.
“That’s honestly really true,” a third said. “The problem is social media has made a bunch of sensitive pussies. And we all call people no matter the race or color for what they are. Period.”
Of course, not everyone was on Strickland’s side.
“You might be the stupidest person I’ve ever heard speak,” one person pointed out.
“You definitely are a racist though,” another wrote matter-of-factly.
Do you agree with Sean Strickland’s stance, or is this just another nonsensical hot take from one of the UFC’s most outspoken stars?
