Sean O’Malley, former UFC bantamweight champion, has yet to hear anything about his potential fight at the UFC White House event on June 14.

During a recent YouTube discussion, O’Malley explained his uncertainty.

“They said they were starting the White House card last week, Tuesday matchmaking,” he said. “They said they were starting it. I haven’t got a call, I haven’t got a jingle, haven’t heard nothing. The ol’ ‘Suga Show’ might not be on the White House. It’s still so far out – like, it’s still far enough out to – I don’t know. I’m seeing Jon Jones. … Conor (McGregor) vs. Nate (Diaz). But it’s like they’ve got to do something big.”

Potential Matchups and Interim Fights

With UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall recovering from double eye surgery, speculation has grown about an interim light heavyweight fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. O’Malley weighed in, saying:

“Pereira vs. Gane, I feel like that would be a little bit of a disappointment. But they would call it the interim belt, triple champ. I mean, there’s something they could do with that.”

The UFC has confirmed that matchmaking for the White House card is complete, but no official fights have been announced. Fans are awaiting news on whether O’Malley, Jon Jones, or other top names will appear.

The White House card is set to be broadcast exclusively on Paramount+, with no live audience in attendance. O’Malley’s comments highlight the uncertainty for fighters and fans as the historic UFC event approaches.
