Sean O’Malley believes Dana White’s latest combat sports venture into slap fighting is a “recipe for disaster,” but can see the entertainment value in what the UFC President is doing.

Earlier this year, White announced the Power Slap League, his take on the popular trend of slap fighting. Recently, the UFC aired a trailer for Power Slap’s January debut on TBS revealing that it will be similar to that of The Ultimate Fighter. Multiple competitors will live in a house with one another and compete in slap-fighting competitions throughout the season. Discussing the concept with his coach Tim Welch on YouTube, Sean O’Malley shared his belief that Power Slap will likely be a disaster, but in a way that you can’t possibly ignore.

“Literally, this is a recipe for disaster. For disaster slash entertainment, I’m going to get 16 guys that slap each other in the face, that want to become famous, that want to become popular. Put them in a f*cking house. A pretty nice house. Give them free alcohol, free food and you can’t do anything for six weeks. That’s f*cked.

“It looks like The Ultimate Fighter, but even crazier because you don’t have to make weight. You don’t have to be in shape. You can get f*cked up and go and perform.”

Power Slap Announces Deal With Video-Sharing Platform Rumble

It was recently announced that Rumble, a popular video-sharing service, will partner with Power Slap to bring an all-new exclusive show to the platform as well as a dedicated Power Slap channel.

“Rumble is an incredible platform and we couldn’t be more excited to be the first sports league to join. Tune in to the Power Slap page because you’re not going to want to miss this,” said Dana White.

According to the official website, “Power Slap is the world’s premier slap-fighting organization, licensed and sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Led by Dana White, Power Slap features competitors from across the globe battling on the ultimate stage to showcase their power, technique, and resolve.

Power Slap: Road to the Title, will premiere on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10:00 P.M. ET on TBS in the United States.
